Applications for veterans and their guardians interested in the next free trip to the national World War II memorial are currently being accepted.
Already, more than 80 WWII veterans are on Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota’s waiting list. All WWII veterans in southwest Minnesota are invited and encouraged to submit an application. Once a veteran’s name is listed, the organization will individually contact them when it is able to make arrangements for a trip. That is the time they would agree to travel.
Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota is also asking the public for support. Money needs to be raised before it can take a spring 2011 flight.
For more contact Jane Wildung Lanphere at the Luverne Area Chamber/Honor Flight Southwest Minnesota by calling (888) 283-4061 or emailing luvernechamber@co.rock.mn.us.
