Bridge work causes Windom detour.

Beginning Monday, a detour along U.S. 71 south of Windom will route traffic to Cottonwood County 17 and Jackson County 30, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The detour, caused by a bridge replacement, will be in effect through Oct. 15. The new bridge, the MnDOT states, will feature engineering and functionality improvements.

There will be 12-foot width restrictions on U.S. 71 in both directions from Cottonwood County 25 to Minnesota 60 during the construction.
